When famine hit
the land of Israel, God said to prophet Elijah, "go to Zarephath, I have
commanded a widow to provide for you".
I kings 17:8-16
When she was
approached by the prophet for a morsel of bread, she told him of her situation.
The last meal was for her and her son after which they were prepared to die.
The prophet contrary to the expected asked for a portion first with a promise
that afterward she will never lack food (the oil and flour will not finish)
As impossible as
that sounds given the circumstances, she obeyed -vs. 12-16 . That widow of
Zarephath is today a reference for believers because she dared to put God first
before her own need
What you have
(little or much) is not a problem to God. He does not need much to start with
in order to do something great, just a willing heart.
When God's work
has a need, He looks for someone with a seed, stretches their Faith and both
the giver and God's work are blessed.
Most times, the
key to our breakthrough is found in Elijah's words - Do not Fear but make me a
cake from it First- vs13
He needs you to
surrender "your little" in order to give you "His much".
For every seed there is an increase. When
God's work has a need, no matter how much or little, sow your seed.
Remember, this is
not limited to financial seed, it could be time and other resources.
Have a blessed day, God bless you.
