Give your mind to Christ

Have you ever been caught in that tiny moment of weakness when you say something horrible to someone and then say sorry to the person, adding the excuse “I don’t know what came over me or  where that came from”. Truth be told, you know exactly where that came from. It came from the store room of your heart where you have consciously or unconsciously piled up the wrong stuffs. I guess when Jesus said out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh” His disciples went “yes Lord” not thinking the abundance of their own heart could be messed up.

 Your mind is your storeroom and was not exactly born again when you confessed Jesus Christ as lord and savior. Our mind (and body) remains the same after salvation and that’s why we remain the same colour, height, weight, can remember past sins and most likely fall victims to the OLD things we abandoned. Before salvation, our mind has been programmed by the things of the world so there is need for a “reprogramming”. We need to give our mind to the word and spirit of God. {John 1:21,14:26} if we do not present our mind to be reprogrammed and renewed continually then we might remain the same or even end up worse than we were before salvation.

We must be spiritually minded to reign over sin and live gloriously {Rom 6:13, 8:13}. You cannot have dominion over sin if your mind is being fed and controlled by the things of the world nor can you be dead to sin when the things that you take in are sinful things. This is simply because whatever your mind conceives & nurtures are what you end up producing.

Philippians 4:8 says;

 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honorable, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things
